AI chat, your way
Stream conversations with OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or Grok. Search, reopen, rename, and continue chat history.
Chat with leading AI providers, ask questions about your own files, and keep your keys in your hands—all from one workspace you operate.
This is an interactive demo; AI providers aren’t connected.
Bring your own provider keys. Encrypted at rest.
Go from a quick question to a grounded answer, revisit a past conversation, or bring your team into the picture.
Stream conversations with OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or Grok. Search, reopen, rename, and continue chat history.
Upload text, Markdown, CSV, and text-based PDF documents and use relevant passages as chat context.
Bring your own provider API keys. Amiral encrypts saved keys at rest and shows only a masked hint.
Create organizations, invite teammates, and manage admin, member, and viewer roles.
Amiral includes the operational foundations around AI chat—from account controls and guarded tools to deployment options you can own.
Admins can review the user directory, see account roles and status, and suspend or reactivate access.
OpenAI chat can use built-in tools for current UTC time and estimated token cost, with validated inputs and a bounded tool-call limit. It is not a general-purpose autonomous agent.
A log guard redacts common credentials—including API keys, passwords, tokens, and secrets—from application log records.
JWT sign-in, bcrypt password hashing, verified email for new accounts, and admin account suspension help protect workspace access.
Provider token usage and estimated costs are recorded for requests. Cost figures are estimates, not provider invoices or exact billing totals.
Optional pay-per-use credits, fixed top-up packages, Stripe Checkout, and signed webhook processing for paid credit grants.
Redis supports response caching and rate limiting, including a default limit of 10 chat requests per user per minute.
Run the web stack with Docker Compose or package the React app as a Windows, macOS, or Linux desktop app with Tauri. Desktop still connects to your backend.
Connect the models you already use instead of being locked into a single provider. Your key is encrypted before it’s stored, and the Vault shows only a masked hint.
Bring your own files into the conversation. Amiral retrieves relevant text and includes it as context, so you can ask questions about your own material.
Create an organization, invite teammates by email, and manage access with clear roles. Team membership is separate from personal chats, documents, keys, and billing.
Explore organizationsSee your balance and manage credit top-ups in Billing. When enabled by the workspace operator, pay-per-use credits can be charged for chat usage.
Amiral is a self-hosted source-code starter kit. You run the application and connect the services and provider accounts you choose.
FastAPI and Python backend, React frontend, Tailwind CSS, PostgreSQL with pgvector, Redis, and Docker Compose setup.
Streaming chat for four providers, encrypted BYOK vault, searchable chat history, private document retrieval, and limited OpenAI tools.
Email-verified accounts, admin user controls, organization roles and invitations, usage tracking, optional credits, and Stripe checkout integration.
A Tauri desktop shell for Windows, macOS, and Linux, plus configuration and setup instructions in the project README.
Run the web app and API on infrastructure you choose. Amiral does not host or operate the product for you.
A non-exclusive, non-transferable global license for unlimited commercial or personal projects, subject to the restrictions below.
The $40 purchase is for the starter-kit license. You choose and pay for any infrastructure and third-party services needed for your deployment.
Docker Desktop or Docker Engine with Compose and OpenSSL for setup. You’ll also need a server or local machine to run the stack.
Configure SMTP host and sender details for email verification and organization invitations. Your email provider may charge separately.
Users provide their own AI provider API keys for chat. Document embeddings use OpenAI and can incur separate API usage charges.
Stripe credentials are only needed if you enable credit purchases. Stripe processes payments under its own pricing and terms.
Node.js/npm, Rust, and platform-specific Tauri build prerequisites are required to develop or package desktop apps.
Hosting, domain, provider API usage, embeddings, email delivery, and payment processing are not included in the $40 license price.
Use the full setup guide for prerequisites and deployment details.
Generate local secrets and create your environment file.
./setup.sh
Set your admin email, SMTP sender and credentials, frontend URL, and deployment settings in .env.
Build the containers, start database services, then apply migrations before starting the app.
Register and verify your email, sign in, then add a provider key in API Vault to chat.
docker compose build backend frontend
docker compose up -d db redis
docker compose run --rm backend alembic upgrade head
docker compose up -d backend frontend
Purchase grants the commercial license below for the source code. This is not access to a hosted Amiral service; hosting, AI provider usage, email, and other third-party services are your responsibility.
Amiral provides security-related controls in its codebase; review the implementation and configure your own environment before production use.
Provider keys in the Vault are encrypted at rest with Fernet. Account passwords use bcrypt, and API authentication uses expiring JWTs.
A log guard module can redact common credentials from log records. Review and install it in application startup before relying on log redaction; verify your logging setup.
Redis-backed rate limits protect selected endpoints. Configure HTTPS, restrict database and Redis access, and monitor your own deployment.
Generate and protect strong secrets, keep them out of source control, secure SMTP and Stripe credentials, apply migrations carefully, and maintain backups.
These terms are reproduced from the repository’s LICENSE file. Read them before purchasing.
